Chumley’s Restaurant originally opened in 1972. This old-English style restaurant was modeled after the Queen’s Pub in Copenhagen Denmark. It was the ideal background for relaxed dining with an atmosphere composed of soft leather, cherry wood, pewter and cut glass.
The restaurant was given the name Chumley’s to give the feel of a gentlemen’s club. Back when Chumley’s first opened, Chumley’s was known for its flambé dishes and tableside cooking. Although 10 years ago, tableside cooking was stopped, Chumley’s still kept the same principal of good food in a comfortable atmosphere.
In the summer of 2006, Chumley’s underwent a complete renovation. Gone are the still life and hunting paintings, now 10 high definition plasma televisions grace the walls of the sports bar. The refined dinning section no longer has the gas lanterns or pewter plates, but still has the feel of soft leather, cherry wood and white linen table cloths.
Although Chumley’s has changed throughout the 30+ years, one thing has remained the same to all of Chumley’s valued guests: Chumley’s is still and will always be a unique dining experience with great food and great service. |
